Currently, the average coconut is priced at IDR 1,500.00 per grain, this figure is down by 44% compared to the price of coconut at the beginning of 2022 (BPS Tanjung Jabung Barat, 2022).
Now the coconut is harvesting, so the factory cannot accommodate all the coconut products from the farmers, said H. Juli, a respondent from the Rural Price Survey who also acts as a collector of coconut and copra in Tungkal Ilir District.
Sumardi, a coconut farmer from Teluk Nilau Village, added that coconut production is high but demand from Java is lacking, causing coconut entrepreneurs from Jambi not to dare to buy coconuts at high prices. (Jambi/BPS data for West Tanjung Jabung Regency)
