In August 2023, Jambi City experienced Month to Month (mtm) deflation of 0.45 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.37 and Muara Bungo City experienced deflation of 0.34 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115. 69

In forming Jambi City's deflation of 0.45 percent, the largest and most dominant contribution came from the Food, Beverage and Tobacco expenditure group at 0.4568 percent. Meanwhile, in the formation of Muara Bungo City's deflation of 0.34 percent, the largest and most dominant contribution came from the Food, Beverage and Tobacco group at 0.3372 percent.
