Cross-Sector Collaboration in Simultaneous Interventions for Stunting Prevention in 2024

In a series of activities for Simultaneous Measurement and Intervention for Stunting Prevention in 2024 in Jambi Province, Ateng Hartono, Deputy for Social Statistics also coordinated and synergized with a number of related agencies. Taking place in the Bulian Meeting Room of the Jambi Province BKKBN Representative (21/6), Ateng and his team had the opportunity to have a direct discussion with the Heads of Working Groups within the Jambi Province BKKBN Representative, the Jambi Province Stunting Task Force Team, and representatives from the Jambi Province Health Office, the Jambi Province Ministry of Religion Regional Office, and the Jambi Province Bappeda.

Starting the discussion, Ateng appreciated the pattern of handling stunting in Olak Rambahan Village and conveyed the need for extra tight supervision in facing the quite significant challenges related to the significant reduction in stunting in Jambi Province in 2023.

The discussion session was also used by Ateng and the BPS team to provide education related to statistics. "We need to map the socio-economic conditions or characteristics of those who are the targets of stunting prevention and handling. That way, we know which parts need to be prioritized," said Ateng. Avenzora also explained to the meeting participants that it is very important to understand RSE (Relative Standard Error) as a measure of data accuracy.

Agus Sudibyo, in the closing session, emphasized that BPS produces indicators related to stunting. "We have a Gender Inequality Index, where our reproductive health component is still quite low because the birth process is still mostly carried out not in health facilities. In addition, it is also necessary to involve the PUPR Service for the sanitation component. Sanitation is of course also related to stunting, although the impact is long-term," concluded Agus.

Cross-sector collaboration is very important in all government programs, including stunting. In fact, this is a noble task. This collaboration must continue to be improved, even though there are challenges in its implementation. BPS must play a role in it, so that the statistics we produce have an even greater impact
