Friday, November 22, 2024, BPS Jambi Province received an educational visit from students of grades X and XI of SMA IT Nurul Ilmi Jambi. The group was welcomed in the hall by the Associate Statistician, Nova Moestafa. In her speech, Nova expressed her gratitude to Nurul Ilmi for the trust given to BPS Jambi Province as one of the educational destination institutions for her students. Nova also mentioned that BPS and the STIS Statistics Polytechnic are one of the places that play a role in producing one of the professions that will be needed in the future, namely data scientists. "Later there will be seniors who graduated from Polstat STIS who will convey information about it," explained Nova.
The material received by the students was related to how BPS works in providing important data needed by the government and other data consumers, including students, students, or teachers. The material was delivered by the Young Expert Statistician, Juliana Marintan Siahaan. The students listened to the material enthusiastically and seemed to enjoy the activities which were also interspersed with interesting quizzes.
The supervising teachers who attended the activity also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Jambi Province BPS for receiving the educational visit that day. The activity was a program at SMA IT Nurul Ilmi Jambi, which aimed to introduce female students to the description of jobs and careers, one of which was at BPS. "In addition to getting to know the data collection carried out by BPS, we hope that the children will be more motivated to recognize their careers in the future," explained one of the supervising teachers.
