Abstract

In March 2017, the level of inequality of Jambi population expenditure as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.335. This figure decreased by 0.011 points when compared with Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.346.
Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2017 was recorded at 0.384 down compared to Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.403. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2017 was recorded at 0.284 down compared to Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.292.
In March 2017, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 20.72 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 18.20 percent which means it is in the category of low inequality. While for rural areas the figure is recorded at 23.00 percent, which means fall into the category of low inequality.
