Abstract

In September 2017, Jambi population inequality rate as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.334. This figure decreased by 0.001 points when compared with Gini Ratio in March 2017 which was 0.335.

Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2017 was recorded at 0.379 down compared to Gini Ratio in March 2017 which was 0.384. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2017 was recorded at 0.295 up compared to Gini Ratio in March 2017 which amounted to 0.284.

In September 2017, the distribution of the lowest 40 percent population expenditure was 20.12 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 17.89 percent which means it is in the category of moderate inequality. While for rural areas the figure is recorded at 21.69 percent, which means fall into the category of low inequality.
