IDI of Jambi Province 2018 Has Decreased Compared to 2017 IDI of Jambi Province

Abstract

The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of 3 aspects, 11 variables, and 28 indicators of democracy.
The methodology for calculating IDI uses 4 data sources, namely: (1) review of local newspapers, (2) review of documents (Perda, Pergub, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews.
The IDI of Jambi Province 2018 reached 68.71 on a scale of 0 to 100. This number experienced a decline compared to the IDI 2017 figure of 74.12. The achievement of the democratic performance of Jambi Province is still in the "moderate" category.
The IDI from 2017–2018 was influenced by a decrease in aspects of Civil Liberties by 13.93 points (from 86.81 to 72.88), an increase in the aspect of Political Rights by 0.68 points (from 62.08 to 62.76) and a decrease in aspects of the Democratic Institution of 4.35 points (from 77.27 to 72.92).
