The location of Jambi Province is geographically between 00 45 'to 20 45' south latitude and between 1010 10 'to 1040 55' east longitude. Regency of Riau and Riau Islands in the north, South and South China Sea in the south, South Sumatera Province in the south, West Sumatra Province and Bengkulu in the west. Administratively, Jambi Province consists of 9 districts and 2 municipalities, 138 districts, 1,219 villages, 148 urban villages. The total area of Jambi Province is 50,160.05 km2 with the widest area in Merangin Regency of 7,779 km2 (or 15.31 percent of Jambi total area) followed by Tebo Regency with an area of 6,461 km2 (12.88 percent of the total area of Jambi). The smallest area is the city of Jambi which is only 205.43 km2.
