The National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) is a very important source of employment data in Indonesia.

This survey is conducted on a semi-annual basis, namely Semester I in February and Semester II in August.

BPS Kerinci Regency is implementing SAKERNAS August 2022 which will be held from August 8 to 31, 2022.

In July 2022, BPS has conducted training for survey officers. The training aims to provide uniformed understanding to officers regarding the concept of definition, field workflow, interview procedures and filling out questionnaires, administration, and so on.

Now, field enumerators have started to enumerate the households selected as samples.

The selected households in the sample are expected to accept enumerators and provide accurate answers.

In general, the purpose of collecting Sakernas August 2022 data is to provide basic employment data on an ongoing basis. Not only that, the Sakernas August 2022 also aims to estimate several employment indicators, for example data on the number of working people, the open unemployment rate, as well as developments at the national, provincial and district/city levels. When viewed from the February 2022 Sakernas, according to the Central Statistics Agency in 2022, the number of the workforce in Indonesia in February 2022 reached 144.01 million people, an increase of around 3.86 million people (2.68 percent) compared to August 2021 (140.15 million). people) and an increase of about 4.20 million people (2.91 percent) compared to February 2021 (139.81 million people).

The number of working population in February 2022 was 135.61 million people, an increase of about 4.56 million people (3.36 percent) when compared to the situation in August 2021 (131.05 million people), and an increase of 4.55 million people (3 .36 percent) when compared to February 2021 (131.06 million people).

The number of unemployed in February 2022 reached 8.40 million people, decreased by about 700 thousand people compared to August 2021 (9.10 million people), and decreased by about 350 thousand people compared to February 2021 (8.75 million people).

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Indonesia in February 2022 reached 5.83 percent, a decrease compared to the TPT in August 2021 and February 2021, which were 0.66 percent points and 0.43 percent points, respectively.

In this case, the population functions as a factor that influences the economy, so that it has the potential to be able to produce skilled labour.

With this potential, they can obtain output that is both in quality and quantity that is able to provide additional income for themselves or for the country.

The Sakernas data is not only needed by internal parties, but also widely used by various groups, both at home and abroad.

Therefore, the importance of collecting Sakernas data as a source of labor data/indicators at the district/city, provincial, and national levels, as well as the quality and availability of Sakernas data must be consistently maintained and improved.

In the future, these data will be needed in planning and policy making, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of regional apparatus.

In addition, officers must also carry out data collection correctly in accordance with existing rules and mechanisms. So that it is expected to capture field phenomena related to employment as supporting material for the analysis of the resulting indicators. (Jambi/BPS Kerinci data)
