One step has advanced accompanied by another step like the earth that continues to rotate even though it seems to be still. At the commemoration of National Statistics Day (HSN) in 2021, the President of the Republic of Indonesia invited all statisticians to build collective efforts in providing fast and quality statistical data.
Statistics are important for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of implementation in national development.
One national program of concern is the strengthening of government data governance so as to produce data that is accurate, up-to-date, integrated, accountable, easily accessible and shared between government agencies so that the realization of One Indonesian Data (SDI), as well as the Strengthening of the National Statistical System (SSN). ) through the implementation of basic statistics, sectoral statistics, and special statistics to produce quality statistical data.
Basic statistical activities are carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Users of basic statistics can not only access the products produced by BPS, but can also provide suggestions and considerations that will be used as input in improving the implementation of basic statistics.
Sectoral Statistics are organized by Ministries/Government Agencies according to their scope of duties and functions, both independently and in collaboration with BPS.
This activity really requires good cooperation between BPS as the manager/coordinator of statistical activities and government agencies outside BPS as organizers of statistical activities in accordance with the mandate of government regulation number 51 of 1999 concerning the implementation of statistics. Meanwhile, special statistics are carried out by the community, either institutions, organizations, individuals or other elements of society, independently or in collaboration with BPS.
The steps towards SDI have become increasingly clear, BPS compiles the Statistical Development Index (IPS) instrument in the Statistical Development Monitoring and Evaluation System (SIMBATIK) with the aim of obtaining measures of achievement of SDI implementation and sectoral statistics in ministries, institutions, and local governments. The objectives of IPS preparation are; first, measuring the achievement of the implementation of One Indonesia Data (SDI) and sectoral statistics in ministries, institutions, and local governments.
Second, get a measure of the fulfillment of the prerequisites for the implementation of SDI.
Third, as a basis for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of SDI and statistical data in ministries, institutions, and local governments.
Fourth, it is used as a basis for BPS to formulate strategies for developing sectoral statistics for ministries, institutions, and local governments.
Furthermore, what benefits will be obtained? BPS, ministries, institutions, and local governments with the establishment of IPS, namely; first, to get a common measure to be the basis for producing quality statistics so that it will increase public trust and wider use of data for policy making and measuring the success of national development.
Second, support efforts to improve the quality of statistical information services for all parties.
Third, improve the coordination, integration, synchronization and standardization of statistical activities carried out by the government within the framework of the SSN.
IPS is not only intended to measure the performance of the implementation of SDI and Sectoral Statistics, this index can also provide a measure that can be used to develop strategies for developing statistical data carried out by BPS as a supervisor for vertical and regional agencies. So that statistical development for local governments can be carried out effectively.
In line with the statistical development efforts, BPS has conducted socialization socialization to agencies, both vertical and local government agencies. BPS introduces 5 domains that will be assessed, namely SDI principles, data quality, statistical business processes, institutions, and statistical systems.
In an effort to make the One Data Jambi Province successful, coordination and cooperation between the Jambi Province BPS as the data builder, the Jambi Province Diskominfo as the data guardian, Bappeda as the one data secretariat, and agencies as data producers are very necessary so that they not only produce data but also high quality and reliable data. can be accounted for.
Quality data will lead Jambi Province towards better development and the Jambi Mantap vision will be achieved. (Jambi/IPDS data)
