Sakernas (National Labor Force Survey) is one of the household-based surveys conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) which is specially designed to collect employment data, Sakernas is conducted twice a year, in February and August. Perhaps there are still many who ask what is the purpose and benefit of collecting Sakernas data? In general, Sakernas data collection is to provide continuous basic employment data. In particular, Sakernas aims to obtain estimated data on the number of working people, the number of unemployed and other employment indicators, as well as representative developments at the national level. Province and regency/city.

Sakernas was held for the first time in 1976, in 1986 it was routinely carried out by BPS until now. The employment context used by BPS is based on The Labor Force Concept suggested by the International Labor Organization (ILO). This concept divides the population into two groups, namely the working age population (population aged 15 years and over) and the non-working age population. Furthermore, the working age population is divided into two groups based on the main activity being carried out, the group is the labor force and not the labor force. The labor force is the population of working age 15 years and over who are economically active, such as working people, or those who have jobs, but are temporarily unemployed and unemployed. Non-labor force is population aged 15 years and over who are still in school, taking care of the household or carrying out other activities. The results of the Sakernas data collection of Bungo Regency in August 2021, showed the number of working age population in Bungo Regency was 281,283 people. It consists of a workforce of 178,842 people, (a decrease compared to 2020 where the workforce was 179,151 people) and a non-work force of 102,441 people. The TPAK (Labor Force Participation Rate) is 63.58 percent (a decrease compared to 2020 where the LFPR was 64.89 percent). LFPR is the percentage ratio of the labor force to the working age population. The LFPR identifies the percentage of the working age population that is economically active in a country/region. The higher the LFPR indicates that the higher the supply of labor (labor supply) available to produce goods and services in an economy.

The Bungo Regency Employment Opportunity Rate (TKK) in 2021 is 94.14 percent (an increase compared to 2020 where the employment opportunity rate is 94.06 percent). The Employment Opportunity Level (TKK) is the percentage of the ratio of the working age population in an area with working status to the workforce. The higher the TKK, the higher the job opportunities in an area. The Bungo Regency's Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in 2021 is 5.86 percent (a decrease compared to 2020 where the open unemployment rate was 5.94 percent). TPT is the percentage of the ratio of the working age population in an area with the status of being unemployed to the labor force. A high TPT indicates that there are many workers who are not absorbed in the labor market. When viewed from the main occupation sector, most of the population of Bungo Regency who work is still in the agricultural sector, which is 73,563 people (41.13 percent). When viewed from the status of their main occupation, the most residents of Bungo Regency who work with the status of work are laborers/employees/employees of 37.60 percent of the total working population.
