Susenas September 2022: Capital to Get Precise and Accurate Health and Housing Data

September 1, 2022 | Other Activities

On August 24-25, 2022, the Central Statistics Agency of Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency held training for prospective field data collection officers for the September 2022 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS).

This training was held in order to provide a uniform understanding of concepts and definitions to field data collection officers for the September 2022 SUSENAS.

The module used as the theme for this September SUSENAS field data collection is the Health and Housing Module.

Housing is one of the basic needs of the population in addition to food and clothing.

Without a house or a place to live, of course, humans cannot live properly. Home ownership/control is one indicator of community welfare in an area, this can be seen from the status of control of residential buildings and floor area used by households.

By 2021, 82.25 percent of households in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency have occupied their own buildings.

When viewed from the gender characteristics of the Head of the Household (KRT), of the total male KRT, 81.03 percent of them control their own residential building.

Meanwhile, of the total female household heads, 93.56 percent of them control their own residential buildings.

In addition to the control of residential buildings, defecation facilities also determine the level of welfare of the occupants.

In 2021, 92.55 percent of households in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency have their own defecation facilities.

Of the defecation facilities, 75.56 percent of them end up in the septic tank/WWTP/SPAL as a final disposal site, while 24.44 percent end up in other final disposal sites.

To obtain precise and accurate housing-related data, a good understanding of concepts and definitions is required. This is important considering that housing data will be used by stakeholders for various development purposes.
