Improving human quality through education is a promising investment. Education is a reflection of the welfare of the community in an area. The higher the education level of a nation, the greater the nation's contribution to the country. No wonder that education is important in advancing this country. The demographic bonus phenomenon plays a major role at this time. The educated productive age will break the increase in economic growth. Therefore, education is one of the benchmarks for the quality of human resources. one of the indicators used to measure education is the net enrollment rate (NER). The NER is useful for showing how much of the population attends school on time.
Based on BPS data from Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, the NER for elementary and junior high schools in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in 2021 is 99.41 percent and 79.88 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the pure high school enrollment rate in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in 2021 is 65.40 percent, which means that around 66 percent of the population in Kuala Tungkal aged 16-18 years attend school on time at the high school/equivalent level. This figure is above the national figure of only 61.65 percent. In addition, this figure is also far above the expansion area of the eastern part of Tanjung Jabung which was only 48.80 percent in the same year. Since 2019, the Pure Participation Rate in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency has increased both at the elementary, junior high, and high school education levels/equivalent. So this can be evidence that public education participation in West Tanjung Jabung Regency is getting better. The increase in education participation to a higher level is expected to be in line with the improvement in the quality of educated human resources. Quality education increases a productive workforce, which then leads Indonesia to become a country with a developed economy.
