Abstract

  • The number of the workforce in Jambi in February 2020 was 1,820 thousand, an increase of 34.9 thousand compared to February 2019. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 67.56 percent or decreased by 0.08 points.
  • In the last year, unemployment increased by an estimated 15.56 thousand people, but the increase in unemployment was lower than the increase in the number of working people so that the TPT rate rose by 0.79 percentage points to 4.41 percent in February 2020, compared to February 2019 The highest TPT was found in the population with a university education, which was 8.51 percent.
  • The working population of 1.74 million people, when viewed from the main employment, businesses that experienced a decrease in employment occurred in the processing industry (0.19 percentage points), providing accommodation (0.49 percentage points), agriculture (0, 07 percentage points) and Trade (0.03 percentage points) compared to February 2019.
  • A total of 980.14 thousand people (56.33 percent) of the population work in informal activities. Over the past year, informal workers have fallen by 1.26 percentage points compared to February 2019.
  • The highest percentage of the population who worked in February 2020 was full workers (minimum working hours of 35 hours per week) of 62.04 percent. Residents who work 1-7 hours have the smallest percentage, which is 2.20 percent. Meanwhile, incomplete workers are divided into two, namely part-time workers (30.35 percent) and half-unemployed workers (7.61 percent).
