Statistical Corner of Unja: Real Step by BPS Jambi Prov to Improve Statistical Literacy in Academics

The Statistical Corner is a collaboration between the Central Statistics Agency and Universities. This activity is an effort of BPS in disseminating the benefits of statistical products produced by BPS in universities. The Statistical Corner has been running in stages in 2019 with the first Statistical Corner being at Hasanudin University Makassar. Until now, BPS continues to work together with other universities. One of them is Jambi University. Last April, at the 3rd Floor of the Rectorate Building, Jambi University, an MoU was signed between BPS Jambi Province and Jambi University on Provision, Utilization, and Development of Statistical Data and Information in the context of implementing higher education tasks and supporting the MBKM curriculum. Later, the Statistical Corner booth will be placed at the Jambi University Library Integrated Service Unit. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, BPS Jambi Province is trying to present a new strategy by creating a Virtual Statistical Corner with a metaverse concept where academics can get various forms of infographics and videographics, online statistical consulting services, literacy rooms, and statistical education services. Academics seem to interact directly with staff at the Jambi Province BPS Integrated Statistics Center, even though they are still in the Statistics Corner of Jambi University. It is hoped that this statistical corner will make it easier for academics to access statistical data services and create an up to date, credible and quality statistical world in Jambi Province.
