Petai. Who does not know this one plant. Even though it has an unpleasant smell, there are not many fans of petai.
Petai that can be boiled, fried, and even eaten have fans from all walks of life.
From the young to the old, from the middle class to the upper class.
Petai itself includes horticultural crops, namely annual fruit and vegetable plants.
Annual Fruit and Vegetable Plants are plants that are sources of vitamins, mineral salts and others which are consumed from plant parts in the form of leaves and or fruit that are more than one year old.
Horticultural data collection is carried out by the Head of the Branch Office (KCD)/ Mantri Tani/ Data Collection Officer of the Regency/City Agriculture Service using the approximate method of field observations.
Data collection uses the sub-district register and the Horticultural Agricultural Survey (SPH) entry list.
Data collection is the responsibility of the Regency/City Agriculture Office.
The inspection of the completeness and correctness of the contents of the SPH document is carried out by the Regency/City Agriculture Service.
The results are submitted to the Regency/City Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for processing.
Data validation is carried out in a forum for synchronizing the results of processing and recording at the provincial and central levels.
The data collected include harvested area, production, and so on. Annual data collection of fruit and vegetable crops is carried out every quarter.
Production is the result according to the product form of each annual fruit and vegetable plant which is taken based on the area harvested on a quarterly basis.
Production for Petai in Tebo Regency in 2021 is 4,218 Quintals.
Tebo Regency occupies the third position in the highest petai production in Jambi Province.
However, judging from the data on the number of productive plants that are producing, petai occupies the second position with a figure of 11,159 trees.
Petai production in Tebo Regency in 2021 should be able to occupy the second position following the number of productive plants that are producing.
This does not happen because the productive petai plants that are producing in Tebo Regency are not in their peak production period.
There are two possible causes, namely the new petai tree is producing or the petai tree is too old but still producing so that the production of the tree is not optimal.
It is hoped that in the future the production of petai in Tebo Regency is more optimal so that the production of Tebo Regency can at least occupy the second position in Jambi Province in proportion to the number of productive plants that are producing.
In addition, optimal production can make petai fans in Tebo Regency have no difficulty in finding the petai themselves.
