Abstract

  • A total of 1,785.34 thousand Jambi residents are the workforce, the number is reduced by 61.09 thousand people from February 2018. In line with that, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also decreased by 3.62 points.
  • In the past year, unemployment was reduced by 2.79 thousand people, while TPT fell by 0.03 points. Judging from the level of education, the TPT for the population with DI / II / III education is the highest among the other education levels, which is 6.66 percent, followed by the University-educated population of 6.21 and Vocational High School 6.18 percent.
  • The working population is 1,720,665 thousand people, reduced by 58.3 thousand people from February 2018. Sectors that experienced an increase in the percentage of the population working mainly in the Trade Sector (2.32 percentage points), Processing Industry Sector (1.35 percent points), Other Services Sector (0.9 percentage points). Meanwhile, sectors that experienced a decline were the Agriculture Sector (1.69 percentage points), the Construction Sector and real estate (1.45 percentage points).
  • As many as 990.94 thousand people (57.59 percent) residents work in informal activities, but the percentage decreases by 0.65 points compared to February 2018.
  • Of the 1,720,665 thousand people who worked, 11.29 percent were categorized as underemployed and 25.77 percent were part-time workers. In the past year, half the unemployed rose by 2.42 points, while part-time workers dropped by 6.54 points.
