The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will carry out the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023). The main objective of the Agricultural Census activity is to provide material for planning and evaluating development outcomes, especially in the agricultural sector. As an initial step in implementing the ST2023 fieldwork, BPS carried out an Updating Directory of Agricultural Companies and Other Agricultural Business Directories (Updating DPP and DUTL) during June – July 2022. The purpose of this activity is to update the directory of agricultural companies and other agricultural businesses so that they are complete, accurate, and and reliable. This directory will then be used for a complete enumeration of agricultural companies and other agricultural businesses in ST2023 next year. Updating DPP and DUTL was carried out using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) mode where the interview process with respondents and data entry was carried out simultaneously by BPS officers using the Integrated Collection System (ICS) application. Agricultural companies and other agricultural businesses covered in this update are agricultural companies/businesses operating in 6 (six) agricultural sub-sectors, namely Food Crops, Horticulture, Plantation, Livestock, Fisheries, and Forestry. Agricultural companies that are covered are all agricultural companies with legal entities/businesses, while other agricultural businesses (UTL) that are covered are agricultural businesses carried out not by agricultural companies with legal entities or households.
Examples of UTL include Islamic boarding schools, correctional institutions, government/private offices, TNI complexes, farmer groups, foundations, and others who work together on farming land in a certain area or area. Although agriculture is not the main sector in Jambi City, there are more than 40 agricultural companies in Jambi City. There are many agricultural companies/businesses located outside Jambi City but having head office or representative activities in Jambi City. Jambi City, which is the capital city of Jambi Province, has once again become an important part of agricultural activities in Jambi Province. (Jambi data/BPS1571)
