"Realizing one Indonesia, we must also work together to build Indonesia in a fair and equitable manner, to build Indonesia-centricity by building from the periphery, from the village, from the front island to the border," said President Joko Widodo at the commemoration of the 92nd Youth Pledge Day, 28 October 2020. So far, the village is still the object of data utilization and management. This can be seen from the existence of various data collection application systems (Prodeskel, SDGs Desa, SIK-NG, and so on) collected in the village. On the other hand, the quality and The capacity of Human Resources (HR) in the village government in terms of village data management and literacy is still relatively low. Therefore, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) as the leading sector in statistical development has an important role in improving data management, utilization and literacy through development of sectoral statistics at the village level The Desa Cinta Statistik program or abbreviated as Desa Cantik is here to realize statistical development sectoral activities at the village level in a sustainable and comprehensive manner. Beautiful Village is a national acceleration program that aims to increase village capacity in identifying data needs and the potential of villages, one of which is in the context of alleviating poverty. This is in line with the responsibility of BPS to provide guidance to the organizers of statistical activities (Law Number 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics) as well as the supervisor of statistical data in the administration of One Indonesian Data (Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Indonesian Data. Development of Beautiful Villages has been carried out since 2021 with coverage of 100 main villages and 177 additional villages. This number will increase in 2022 to 508 main village samples and 539 additional village samples spread over 514 districts/cities. There are 2 assisted villages that are covered by Beautiful Village in the Regency Batang Hari, namely Aro Village and Sungai Buluh Village in Muara Bulian District. The selection of these villages was based on 4 criteria: First, the calculation of the 2021 Village Index (ID) with the highest ID status category in each district/city. Second, the education level of the village head/village apparatus Third, the presence of a computer or internet in the village office. Finally, there is tourism potential or superior products in the village area. There are several concrete steps that have been taken by BPS Batang Hari Regency in order to implement the development of Beautiful Village.
First, forming a work team and compiling a work plan.
Second, conduct socialization with relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), especially the Regent of Batang Hari Regency and the Camat of Muara Bulian to increase literacy, awareness, and an active role in the implementation of statistical activities.
Third, coordinate with the Office of Communication and Information and the Village Community Empowerment Office of Batang Hari Regency to optimize the use and utilization of statistical data, so that development programs in the village can run on target. Next, consolidate the selected villages to form statistical agents at the village level by identifying data needs in priority programs that will be carried out by the village. Through the Desa Cantik development program, it is hoped that it will foster a high awareness of the importance of statistics accompanied by neat, systematic and effective data management for the effective and efficient use of village funds. Of course, to make this happen, there needs to be support and contributions from various parties, ranging from the Batang Hari District Government, village officials, to the local village community.
