Quarterly CVM GRDP Preparation Workshop for Regency/City throughout Jambi Province in 2024

Taking place at the Aston Jambi Hotel, BPS Jambi Province held a Quarterly CVM GRDP Preparation Workshop for Regency/City throughout Jambi Province in 2024 (21/11). The CVM GRDP Preparation Workshop was attended by the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis Team of BPS Regency/City throughout Jambi Province and Regional Apparatus Organizations represented by the Regional Development Planning Agency and the Jambi Province Communication and Informatics Office. The workshop lasted for 3 days from 21-23 November 2024.

Chain Volume Measures (CVM) is a change in the new GRDP calculation method which aims to obtain more representative, up-to-date, accurate and reliable regional economic information. The Workshop material was presented by Sumarmi as the head of the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis Team of BPS Jambi Province. Sumarmi said in her presentation that the change in the base year in calculating GRDP has been used for more than 10 years. The basic year for calculating GRDP should change every 10 years to accommodate the economic changes that occur. Moreover, in the era of disruption, many new economic activities have emerged that did not exist when the base year was 2010.

This workshop is very important as an effort to prepare and a moment to prepare data using the CVM calculation method. It is hoped that the change in the calculation method will be able to improve the quality and ensure the consistency of regional economic growth calculations, especially in Jambi Province.
