The Central Statistics Agency of Jambi Province released the level of inequality in Jambi's population spending, Monday (1/8/2022). This was conveyed by the Head of Jambi Province BPS Agus Sudibyo. In March 2022, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the Jambi population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.320. This population expenditure inequality figure increased by 0.005 points compared to the September 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.315 and decreased by 0.001 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.321.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.351, up from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.347 and down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.354.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.292, up from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.284 and the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.288. Compared to other provinces in Indonesia, the highest Gini Ratio in March 2022 was recorded in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which was 0.439. Meanwhile, the lowest Gini Ratio was recorded in Bangka Belitung Province with a Gini Ratio of 0.236. When compared with the national Gini Ratio of 0.384, Jambi Province is still below the national figure. Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent is 21.14 percent. This means that population expenditure in March 2022 is in the category of low inequality level.

If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 19.79 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 22.36 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
